Boa shrimp are categorized by their cheek spots and back cape. High grade boas have a cape that spans across the entire back line. You also look for cheek spots, and personally I like more defined cheek spots, but some folks think the more cheek spots, the higher the grade. To each their own. My goal with these boa shrimp is to work on the blue metallic cape, and get some nice uniform cheek spots. The "culls" my boas produce will be blue steel and black (galaxy) fishbone pintos. Please note that the blue metallic is not guaranteed and does not show up until adulthood.
I keep my boas in Amazonia soil, gh+ minerals to 110-120 tds (gh 4-5) and keep the temperature to room temp (around 68-73°f).
