Taxiphyllum "Flame" Moss

Taxiphyllum "Flame" moss has a frond structure that does not branch out a whole lot. The way it grows, resembles flames (tall, narrow, and curvy) hence the name ;) Flame moss provides a great place for shrimp to graze, and they feel comfortable hiding in it.

It can grow quite tall when under the right conditions, which for us is moderate lighting, light nutrients, and as always, a good cleaning crew to keep the fronds clean. We find that it loves to grow when tied to pretty much anything but does especially well when tied to one of our moss ledges, stainless steel mesh, or tied to coconut shell.

Propagation of Flame Moss: When the moss grows taller than you would like, simply trim close to the base and tie down to whatever you would like it to grow on. We suggest chopping or ripping the moss a little, to allow it to grow in thicker.
