Kallax 7 Pack

Kallax balls are a great grazing food for your smaller shrimp colony of <50, as opposed to Lubao which are for larger colonies of shrimp. These balls are stuffed with amazing products that create biofilm for your shrimp to graze on in between feedings, or while on vacation. These will not foul your water when used according to directions.

Kallax will produce biofilm for 30 days and be a constant natural food source for your shrimp. These are a great benefit to mature aquariums, as biofilm availability becomes limited as your tank matures and your shrimp colony grows. You can also use these while cycling your tank, as it will provide a stable bioload for aquariums with inert substrate or soils that do not leech ammonia.

These should not replace normal feeding with pellets and leaves. This is for supplemental feeding.

Not as useful as I had hoped. My shrimp don’t even touch it.

These are meant to be grazing foods. You won't see too much of a swarm for these except for the first hour you put them in the tank. If you don't see an excess of biofilm growth on it, that means that your shrimp are eating the biofilm as it grows, and benefiting from it.

Excellent Addition to Any Shrimp Tank

I was looking for a grazing source for my 10 gallon Caridina shrimp tank and stumbled across the Kallax ball. It was exactly what I was looking for and my shrimp have been all over it since I dropped it in!

I don’t really see the shrimp eating it but my pleco love it

Kallax are meant as a grazing food, so you won't see swarming of it except for the first hour you have it in the tank. As long as you don't see an excess of biofilm growth on the ball, that means that your shrimp (or plecos) are eating the biofilm as it grows. My guess is that your pleco is eating any biofilm before the shrimp get to it.

Great Product!!

I used both the Lubao and Kallax and they are very good. Be sure to soak before use for 3-5 days and change the water daily. I kept it in a little feeding dish inside the tank and biofilm will start growing quickly. They last about 2 months so keep that in mind but overall, I am very happy with them.
