Indian Almond Leaves (Catappa Leaves)

Indian Almond Leaves, also known as Catappa Leaves, are a great way to introduce tannins into your shrimp or fish tank, and provide a nutrient rich surface for biofilm to grow. Biofilm growth is important to your shrimp and shrimplets to graze on, as it is a natural food source for them. Tannins that leech from these Indian Almond Leaves (IAL) are beneficial health wise as well, providing anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Place one leaf into your aquarium and let it break down. When the leaf breaks down to just the skeleton of the leaf, remove skeleton and replace leaf with a new one.

Not only are these great for your shrimp tanks, but also make great betta hammocks, and make for great leaf litter in blackwater or South American set ups.

  • Natural remedy and prevention of mild bacterial and fungal infections.
  • Supplemental Natural Food source for your Shrimp and Shrimplets.
  • Releases beneficial tannins into the water column.
  • Betta Hammock
  • Leaf Litter

It's absolutely stunning. These are top-quality leaves. Packaged perfectly to ensure safe arrival. They even threw in a few extra to top it off, as if what they sent was not enough. If you're looking to make your tank more natural and bring a bit of home to the inhabitants within, then you can't go wrong with your selection of these Indian Almond Leaves.

Awesome deal!

Got my IAL in and was pleasantly surprised to see how big the leaves are. Much better price than competitors. Can’t wait to get them in my tanks!

The leaves are huge, aren't they?! I am also working on getting some smaller ones in, just to have some more options.
